Alliance for Progress has a strict
code of student conduct and high expectations for all students. We
are seeking students who want to learn and families who understand
that good education is the product of teamwork and requires
cooperation and frequent communication between home and school.
Like all public, charter schools,
APCS chooses students by a lottery conducted each April. The
school maintains a waiting list after the lottery and places are
offered to students on the waiting list as they become available.
To apply, parents or guardians need to fill out an application and
supply a copy of the child's birth certificate, a copy of the
child's social security card and proof of residence (mortgage,
lease, utility bill). We encourage all prospective parents and
guardians to attend one of several Open Houses to learn more about
the school's philosophy. At those sessions we explain what we
expect of our children and our families and what they can expect
from us.
Once children are admitted, we ask
each family to come in for an individual or small group meeting
with a school representative. All paper work must be completed
before a child is enrolled and all former school records and
medical records received. No child is allowed to start school
unless all these requirements, including state mandated
requirements for immunizations, are satisfied.
