Happy 100 Days of School!

Local Boxer Steph “Cool Boy” Fulton Donates Winter Coats to AFPCS Students

In October 2023, our students received a visit by world renowned boxer Steph “Cool Boy” Fulton as part of a coat drive he facilitated at various schools in Philadelphia. Gratefulness Giveaway

AFPCS hosted a Gratefulness Giveaway the week of the Thanksgiving 2023 holiday where 36 families were provided with full dinners that included turkey or chicken, fresh produce, milk, cheese, eggs, and all the other trimmings. 4th Floor Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

On November 16, 2023, AFPCS hosted a dedication and ribbon-cutting ceremony on the 4th floor of our elementary school. The event celebrated the completion of construction of the floor and the naming of the Marilyn H. Rivers Innovation Lab. Harrisburg Advocacy Day

Students and staff attended Harrisburg Advocacy Day on October 17th with AACSC (African American Charter School Coalition). Together, we advocated to protect and expand educational options for students in K-12 schools. Our voices matter and our state elected officials needed to hear from us. Unified, we advocated for student school choice and equity for black and brown schools.

Scholastic Book Fair

AFPCS held the Scholastic Book Fair in the month of October to give scholars the opportunity to purchase reading materials, educational tools and fun gadgets and gizmos. Scholars enjoyed looking through titles and find materials that peaked their interests. On Tuesday, October 10th, #26 Terrell Edmunds joined AFPCS to celebrate the Philadelphia Eagles! Students had the chance to dress down in their favorite player’s gear, make signs for classrooms rooting for our home team, and meet Mr. Edmunds in person.
